Finally Summer Vacation....

Well, school is done for Devante. He is looking forward to an enjoyable summer. Unfortunately, he wanted to spend his summer in San Diego but that won't be happening. Last time, we went to San Diego, Dante and I were stranded in Virginia and had to pay an expensive one-way ticket to get back to Italy. So can't risk taking a military flight during the summer months. I'm sure everyone tries to go home so the chances of us being able to get back are slim. Instead of San Diego, he'll have to settle for more swimming lessons and trips to the park. Devin is busy during the summer so family trips probably won't happen.

Today was the last baseball game of the season. It's amazing how fast kids learn to play a game they have never played. Devante received the game ball today for his hit. That was exciting for him. He waits for the perfect pitch so he is sometimes hesitant to hit the ball. I missed seeing the hit. I took Dante to the playground for a little while because he was entertaining himself by digging holes in the grass. I'm sure the landscapers are not going to be too happy about that.

It is definitely getting hot here. For some reason the sun feels a lot hotter here than in San Diego. We have started using SPF 80 because SPF 45 does not work for us here. Next weekend the boys and I taking our first trip to the beach. Of course, it will be away from Naples. As dirty as the city is here, I can't imagine what the beach must look like and how chaotic it must be. So...we are going away. Well, just fot the day. Devin has to work and he doesn't like the beach much so it was a perfect time for us to go. We will pack our cooler and our towels and off we go. One nice thing about the beaches here is that you rent a chair and an umbrella for the day so you can hide from the sun a bit. I will tell you all about our beach trip next time......Miss you all.
