Christmas and New Year's
Today the house is back to normal. Devante had two weeks off for Christmas vacation and then Devin took some time off to study for his exam so my schedule has been off. Devin is at work, Devante in school, and Dante is still asleep so the house is nice and quiet maybe I can get an hour of reading done before Dante gets up today. Well, thats unless the dog starts barking or crying and I have to go out in the cold and yell at him. How nice must it be to be in Sunny San Diego. I'm sure all of you in the East Coast would agree. Anyway, it's not as cold here as it is in the east coast but it's cold enough after living in sunshine for 10 years(13 actually if I count Hawaii).
We had a nice Christmas. The boys opened one present on the 24th which I guess was enough because they didn't get up until 10:30 on Christmas Day. We opened presents at about 11am. They were happy with all their presents but especially happy to see a Nintendo Wii which they weren't expecting. We spent the day at another families home. It was a nice, relaxing day. No stress!!!!!
New Year's was also nice. We normally spend New Year's at home but we did it differently this year. We did the whole countdown at church. Not the 10, 9, 8,...countdown. As the clock was ticking the seconds, the whole church began to pray. We all brought in the New Year in prayer. It was a new experience for us and one we truly enjoyed. We spent New Year's Day at home playing the Wii.
Now if you want to see how out of shape you are, try playing the Wii for 1/2 an hour. After a few tennis and bowling games my arms felt a little sore but the soreness didn't really hit until I woke up the next morning and it hurt to lift my arms. Not fun!!! Even Devante said his arms were hurting. It has become our family game since the kids can only play it on the weekends.
Like I said earlier, Devante is back in school and working hard. Dante is at home getting ready for kindergarten. Devin's back at work and school. Luigi has been spending his time jumping the fence. We haven't done much this last month. I was sick for awhile so we were mostly at home. We did get an addition added to our house here so we were able to see how to build a room in 7 hours. It's not a big room...it's actually a much needed storage area off the laundry room. Oh, and we have a new neighbor. Devin has a new co-worker that got here a month ago from San Diego and moved in next door with his wife and 8 month old daughter. They also have 10 year old son that will join them in Italy later(playmate for Devante).
It just started to rain....a note on that....I have never seen it rain this much in my life. Since November, it has rained almost everyday. It never stops. If it doesn't rain all day, it will rain at night. You don't have to worry about watering your grass in the winter. It definitely seems like it's going to be one of those days you want to stay curled up in bed (yeah, right...not possible). Dante will be up in about 1 hour and I'll have just enough time to get him dressed and fed and we are off to his reading group at the library. It starts today. They have a winter and summer reading group here where the children get together once a week for an activity and read books during the week to get prizes. Devante also has one for his age group that will meet after school today. For the next couple of weeks, Thursday will be my do-all day since I'll be at the Naval Base for the reading group. I try to only go on base once a week and only if I need to. So since I'm there for the kids reading group, I'll also do the groceries. That's all for now. Love you guys.
