Back in Italy

I told Ms. Glenda that I would post on the blog more often and so far I have failed. I would make it a New Year's Resolution but I know if I couldn't do it before what makes the new year different. I have never been good at the New Year's Resolution thing....but who knows...there's always a first time for everything.

Anyway, Dante and I are back in Naples. It was a long busy, fun, and exhausting trip but we are happy to be back with Devin and Devante. It was hard being away from them. San Diego was great. It was warm and sunny. I took care of the things I needed with our house. It was nice to see our church family. It felt like I had never left because as always I was greeted with open arms. Thank you all for your prayers and we appreciate all the emails. It was nice being back home and seeing family and friends. For those we didn't see, sorry.....we will see you on the next trip. We definitely wanted to see everyone but it wasn't possible. Hopefully on the next trip it will be the whole family.

Our trip to Connecticut was also nice and cold. It only snowed slightly one day we were there, so that was a blessing. I spent all my time with Dante, Baby Harry, and the new baby, Sofia. It was great to meet her. She is definitely a cutie.
Dante and I spent Thanksgiving with my sister and the kids. Again, sorry for those I did not get to see in Connecticut....next trip.

When we left Connecticut we headed to Virginia for our military flight home but guess what....we were stranded in Virginia. That's the chance you take to get on a space available flight. We would have had to wait another week to come home but Devin and I decided that it was more important for us to be home as a family so Dante and I took a commercial flight home.....not cheap but worth every penny just to be together.

Our flight from Norfolk took us to Munich, Germany. Just from what I saw out the window as we were landing, it looks like a nice place to visit. As we boarded our flight to Naples, reality hit...I'm going back to the chaos. Even boarding the plane was chaotic. I wanted to scream, "People we have assigned seats who cares who boards first". Dante and I stayed out of the way because I was afraid that the only little boy on the flight would get trampled. How crazy is that. We got to Naples in an hour and a half. Although I knew what to expect, I felt like I did day one "When is the next flight out of here?" but I got over it once I saw Devin and Devante. This is home for now.

Devante and Dante are back to their routine together. They are excited about Christmas and are counting down the days. Devin has a new co-worker so he's getting him settled in. I'm sick with the flu and can't wait to get better.

We finally got our Christmas tree up. We had to get a artificial one this year. They wanted $100 on base for a real tree and I couldn't find one out in town. We were paying $20-$25 for a 6' foot tree in San Diego...big difference so we got a fake one out in town. The box showed a nice dark, green tree but instead we got a bright, green tree (I'll post pics later). It took us a few days to get used to it since the decorations we had did not stand out in our bright tree and we couldn't find any decorations left anywhere. My landlord told me that by Dec 6th you won't find any Christmas decorations left. Now I know for next year. I need to go with bright decorations for this tree. Anyway, the boys love the tree although I think it looks pretty sad.

Devante is out of school for the next two weeks. Hopefully, I'll get better soon so that I can enjoy these two weeks with him. Dante is happy his brother will be home to play all day and I'm sure Devin will have some time off too.

Well, Ms. Glenda, I'm going to really try to post more often :)
