Settled In
Ok...so we finally are settled into our new home and getting used to life in Naples. Well, trying to get used to life in Naples, talk about culture shock. The boys are settling in fine. Devante likes school. He says its easier than at Literacy First which concerns me that he is not being challenged enough. School will be done on June 12th for him so he has all summer to work on other stuff and get prepared for third grade. Dante has his days. Being with him all day long is exhausting. He's four and very active so I'm on the go all day long. I am enjoying my time with him although I do miss working....sometimes.
I think I have plenty of work here with Dante and the new addition to our family. Yes, we have a new addition to our family.....Luigi....our dog. We got him from a family that was leaving Naples and couldn't take him. They found him as a newborn puppy and the Autostrada (the freeway). I didn't want to get him but the boys and Devin have always wanted a dog so I gave in. Guess who the dog is attached to...ME. He follows me everywhere and sleeps on my side of the bed...on the floor, of course. I got him a doggy bed to sleep in and have tried moving it around but he always ends up on my side so I guess I'll let him be. He's not really a guard dog but all the workers that come to the house are terrified of him. If they only knew that if you pet him he's harmless.
We finally have a phone and internet..........yeah. Still no cable tv but that's good. I have been reading a lot. When you work you don't have too much time to do the things you like to do...like relaxing with a good book. There's only 10 channels on AFN anyway so no Lifetime movies.
I wish I could say I love it here but that's not the case. I am pretty homesick and miss San Diego terribly. Everyone I talk to says this: Year one....You hate it. Year two...You start to deal with it. Year Three....You don't want to leave. I can't imagine not wanting to leave. After I see everything I want to see, I'll definitely be ready to go home.
Devin is doing fine. He enjoys his work on the Admiral's barge. He's actually been able to see a little more than me since he goes on the barge to the different islands off of Naples. He's been to Capri. I heard a lot of the rich and famous go to that island to relax. Right now is tourist season until Sept. so going places can be pretty stressful with all the people plus it has been pretty humid. The temp. was 84 degress yesterday but it felt like 100 with all the humidity. It has been 103 or more in El Cajon and never felt this hot to me. This is the sticky hot that I got away from in the East Coast.
Well, I will start posting more on the blog and keeping you all in the loop with whats going on with the family. I miss you guys. Ciao!!!!

THANKS for starting the blog and sending pictures! We miss you all so much. Loved the dog story, we recently go another dog too, and guess where she sleeps? Please give the boys a BIG HUG from me and tell them I miss them! Praying for you!
